Part-Time Job Fair – This Tuesday!

Need not fear, the Part-Time Job Fair is NEAR!

On Tuesday, August 26th, 12:30pm to 4pm in the Elliott University Center (EUC) Cone Ballroom, over 30 employers will be here to recruit for their part-time positions. Some of the employers are Triad DJ & Events, Home Depot, High Point Gymnastics Academy, The Childcare Network, and UNCG Campus Rec, just to name a few! For the growing list of participating employers, visit “SpartanCareers” on the CSC website.

Here are a few suggestions as you prepare to compete with your fellow Spartans for these jobs:

  • Get to the job fair EARLY, dressed to impress! Need ideas of proper attire – click here (ladies) and here (guys).
  • Have a game plan! Review the complete list of participating employers and pick at least 4 or 5 organizations that you would like to target. Be realistic – you will NOT get the opportunity to visit all the employers in a short couple of hours! A game plan ensures that you will at least focus on the employers you really want to meet rather than wandering aimlessly through the crowd.
  • Be prepared! Be VERY prepared! Be ready for an impromptu interview on the spot! Come with multiple copies of your resume. Research the companies’ websites and come prepared with good questions to ask, so that you have something to talk about! It’s about making a great first impression.

Please know that the Career Services Center is here to help as you get prepared for this fair. We have drop-in hours every day Monday – Friday from 10am-5pm with our Peer Career Ambassadors ready to assist you! We hope to see you on August 26th!
